Day 687 to Day 693: 1,000 Closed Beta Keys gone in 16 hours

Closed Beta

Well it is a big week ahead with Closed Beta starting this Thursday.  Last week, we starting email about beta keys around 2:30pm on Wednesday, by 6:30am on Thursday the 1,000 closed beta keys were gone!  Wow, that was awesome.  All gone in 16 hours!  But I am now feeling the pressure.  While, the 3 main modules, Economy, Military and Politics are nearing completion, there is work to be done in each.  Unfortunately, there won’t be enough time to complete Media, Communication and Quests.  Also, we are still working through elements of the UI as well as trying to come up with a tutorial too.  So, it is looking more like this first Closed Beta is more of a late stage Alpha.  There is a lot of work to be done in the next 3 days.  Want in on the next closed beta?  Sign up here: http://www.worldalpha.com/beta-testers

If you really still want in on this closed beta there are 4 possible ways in.  We are going to have 3 contests on Facebook, Twitter and Reddit the beginning of the week.  If you don’t get one there you can always contribute any amount of $10 or more by Wed. Nov. 21^st at IndieGoGo and we’ll be sure to send you a key.

Well before I started the IndieGoGo campaign, I read about the fact most campaigns have a rush at the beginning, a rush at the end, and a bit of a lull in the middle.  Well it seems we have hit that lull period.  It has been a slower week for sure, but we thank those who have contributed.  I realize for many, they are probably waiting to play the game in closed beta before they consider donating, which is understandable.  It again puts on the pressure for the coming week!
